Uncle Johnny
In 1961 my Mom’s brother, Johnny hitchhiked from Kansas to Kendall, WI to be home for Christmas. He carried this record player the entire way and gave it to my Mom for Christmas. I never got to meet my Uncle, but I’m happy to be his namesake. I like the way the sun is falling on it today in my dining room.

“Boombox”
“Boombox” in hallway dies after 15 years? No problem. Search house, find one working speaker and old receiver with no lights on the display, my work here is done.
Too big? Maybe. Hard to carry on shoulder? Okay, sure, but the price was right. #makin’oldshitworkagain
